I didn’t really get the grasp of Black History Month in grade school – maybe because they skimmed through it as lessons to quickly get out of the way rather than embracing its magnitude. Regardless, that doesn’t negate the power, beauty, and depth that is the black person – from Africa to her many diaspora.
That is why I love what my sorority sister @euniquejg has built with @becauseofthem involving young children and engaging them to actively learn about the power that is black history. February will never be long enough to contain all of it, but it’s a start. Happy Black History Month to us all … let’s keep making history for our children’s children and generations to come! ✊🏾💚
