  • A Tradition Not Meant To Be Broken

No one can promise that they will never hurt you because one time or another they will, the real promise is if the time you spent together will be worth the pain in the end.” -???

My sister posted this picture to my FB wall a couple of weeks back, and I thought it was one of the cutest pictures ever (she says I’m the one on the right with the natural hair- haha :).  Then sometime last week I happen to roll upon the same picture on another site. What I did not realize the first time I saw it was that there was a link to many more pictures, which depicts the Yoruba [tribe of Nigeria] traditional wedding ceremony. The details from the attire all the way to actions of the dolls are so precise and peculiar.

Have a look for yourselves at Black Barbie’s Wedding. Take a minute to read the story. It is well documented.

Appropriate music for the occasion. Enjoy!

    Have a great day. xx
